My mom bought me a mini donut pan about 2 months ago and I have been dying to use it. Since Christmas is right around the corner I thought why not make red velvet donuts with green sprinkles. These donuts are baked and they are fluffy and so yummy.
Ingredients for the Donuts:
- 2 3/4 Cup of Red velvet cake mix
- 3/4 Cup of Buttermilk
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tablespoons of Butter, Melted
Ingredients for Vanilla Glaze:
- 2 Tablespoons of Hot water
- 2 Cups of Powdered sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla extract
- 1 Tablespoon of Milk
- Sprinkles
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl add cake mix, buttermilk, eggs and melted butter.
Mix batter until it is smooth without any lumps. Batter will be a little thick.
Spray donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Put batter in a pastry bag. Cut the tip of the bag making sure that the hole is not too big. Pipe the batter into pan about 2/3 full. Place pan in oven for 7 to 9 minutes.
Remove donuts from pan and place on cooling rack. While donuts are cooling, start on the vanilla glaze.
In a small bowl add all ingredients. Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
Dip the donuts in the glaze and place back on cooling rack. Add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet. If your glaze starts to get hard you can add a little more hot water.
Enjoy!!

Jen
